MAGAZINES

1 – Jonathan is a budding scientist and photographer. He has a small lab in his father’s garage where he tries different experiments. He would like to get some new ideas for things to try.


2 – Megan has been cooking since she was small, and is particularly interested in the science of cooking. She would like a magazine which explains things about cookery, and what makes a healthy diet.


3 – Ruth is very good on the guitar and has her own group. She would like to hear the latest news about new musicians and wants information about her favourite singers.


4 – Joseph loves looking good, and wants to be a journalist when he grows up. He is very interested in whatever is going on in the world. He would also like to learn about the filming side.


5 – Sam is crazy about fashion, makeup and enjoys the rhythm of the big city. She would like to get some ideas about which clothes go best together. She is also interested in designing her own clothes.


A – MUSE

This magazine, launched in January 1997, features nine cartoon characters known as the Muses. The articles expose kids to history, science, photography and cameras. Regular Muse content includes fun facts, a question-and-answer page and fun underlying themes such as extraterrestrial life, urban legends, pirates and so much more.

 


B – CHOP CHOP

Chop Chop is filled with fabulous recipes, interactive games and educational food facts and is intended to inspire and teach kids to cook real food with their families. It explains what healthy eating means, and how food changes when it is cooked, but does it in an interesting way with fascinating facts.

 


C – RHYTHM

Teens adore this positive teen gossip entertainment magazine. Rhythm is often the first to introduce budding new stars to eager fans and it always thrills readers with coveted double-sided posters and interviews featuring the world’s most popular teen celebrities.

 


 

D – RANGER RICK

Ranger Rick, a nature magazine, has been in publication since 1967. The award-winning magazine promotes environmental activism and is bursting with spectacular photos, fabulous stories and awesome activities. It caters for all ages.

 


E – HIGHLIGHTS

Every 40-page issue helps children explore exciting new topics, investigate cool subjects and learn about our wonderful world. Highlights features stories, puzzles, games, riddles, and really interesting science experiments to try using everyday things from any kitchen.

 


F – TIME FOR TEENS

Time For Teens brings eight pages of news and activities to kids and teens. It gets behind the story to give real life accounts of how the news affects young people. There is a really great section on how news is gathered and how the industry works.

 


G – NEW MOON GIRLS

Mums and daughters alike love New Moon Girls. The advertising-free magazine skips diet tips and gossip columns in favour of content that encourages girls to express their true inner voices. It explores current ideas and gets to the heart of what’s happening.

 


H – ZOOTLES

There are few things that young people are more interested in than looking good . Zootles presents gorgeous photos, wonderful articles and interviews with professional makeup artists. Each issue focuses on one area of the glamour industry and explores different fashion styles from around the world, and through the ages.
